Experience with LingQ
Chris from New Zealand sent us a comment about his experience with LingQ. For those of you learning English this is an opportunity for you to practice listening to a different accent from mine.
I welcome comments about LingQ in any language and with any accent.
Here is what Chris said.
I'm currently using LingQ the system for French and German; the former I'm learning from the beginning and the latter I'm refining and trying to improve. Already with German, the number of new words I've learned just through the various content in the store and through browsing the web has served as great motivation, making the task less stressful and ultimately all the more enjoyable. I think in this case, for refining one's knowledge of a language, LingQ is especially useful.
With French, I'm using the system to learn more or less from the beginning, and only with a small amount of prior knowledge. For this I simply save words and phrases, review them, then repeatedly listen to content I've chosen myself. After this, I just go through and flashcard all the words for that content item, to reinforce all this. Basically, the whole system strikes me as being incredibly simple, user-friendly and pleasant. Not only this, but you're immersing yourself in the language from day one, soaking it up and becoming acquainted with it, something the vast majority of language classes out haven't seemed to figure out. And this whole process actually requires very little effort. I've mentioned this before, but I think it's great that you're able to study more than one language at a time, which allows people to keep in touch daily with languages they know, and begin others from scratch.
Because of this natural, virtually effortless approach to language learning, LingQ has the potential do well in countries such as New Zealand, where knowledge of a foreign language is not the norm. I'd also say for the first time ever, I've actually committed myself to doing something like this every day. Most often, my experiences in trying to acquire foreign languages have had me slacking off on the third or fourth day. So anything that can hold my attention for more than a week certainly has my vote.

The LingQ community is fascinating!
I am alone, I have to learn for me, I have no classroom and no teacher, I have to learn a new system...
BUT I feel familiar in LingQ with many friends.
I am not alone, I can ask when I need a help, I have a personal tutor, I have Skype for speaking and discussions with other members.
I appreciate that you all a doing a great job and give me fun for learning.
