English greetings

Greetings in English or any  language are important to get right. There is obviously much much more to learn, but getting the greetings right for different situations gives a non-native speaker confidence.

..................................................................................................................

As I am a new student1 I have not reviewed many articles yet.2 However, of all the articles that I have studied,3 I liked "Greetings and Goodbyes" the most because4 I now understand5 how one should greet someone at different times and also in different places.6

As I mentioned earlier,7 I haven't read many articles,8 but still I can compare "Greetings and Goodbyes" with the introductory articles.9 I found that the introductory articles10 are less like conversation. Therefore,11 I liked "Greetings and Goodbyes",12 which was easy to learn and study..

I just finished with "Greetings and Goodbyes",13 and I like the different ways of greeting people.14 I also like that they mentioned15 all the ways of greeting people in different situations, for example,16 at formal and informal functions. I really loved this.17

In my opinion,18 this is a key article19 which we can use in our day to day lives.20As I am a new student21 and also new to this place,22 I didn't know the perfect greetings for different times and places,23 but after I read this article I felt much more confident24 about my greetings and goodbyes.25For that, I am really thankful to The Linguist.26

To me a linguist is someone who speaks more than one language. I have little interest inthe discipline of "linguistics" as practiced in universities so I cannot answer you promenade.
The way to improve in a language is to listen and read a lot and build up vocabulary and familiarity with the language through a lot of hard work. www.thelinguist.com makes this easier.

Hi Sir,

I speak English just fine. I just need some information on how to greet and say goodbye to people, in Enlgish, in an email. I am not looking for French or Spanish terms either. Just English like "Best Wishes" "Warm Wishes" and "Hope to Speak with you soon." I am looking for something more informal and familiar than terms like "Sincerely" or "Reguards." I am looking for something friendly, yet sincere. Please help me! All I do is write emails all day!

Thanks, Thanks alot, Hope to hear from Soon, Toodle Loo, and Ta Ta for now,

*-Rose
